PRAYER FOR YOUR CHURCH

Children’s Ministries

Lord, I lift up our children’s ministries to You. Create an atmosphere here that encourages our children to find You. Let the teachers be careful to remind each child of the marvelous things You have done. Cause everything they learn about You to become a part of them forever. May they consistently choose life and blessing each day because of the training they receive in our church. Keep them walking in the truth. (Mk 10:14; Dt. 4:9; 29:29; 30:19; Prov 22:6; 3 Jn 1:4)

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death” (Ps. 23:4) are words that have brought comfort to all of us at one time or another. These timeless words remind us that there is hope while in the midst of a spiritual valley. David knew what it meant to live by the hope of a promise while experiencing a far different reality. Often our prayer ministry can experience that same dynamic. We have an idea of what it can be, and then there is the reality of what it is. When it comes to growing a prayer ministry our “valleys” can seem long and dry as we pray, wait and hope for spiritual breakthroughs.

Apply, study and meditate on the following biblical principles to help see you through to a spiritual breakthrough.

  1. Walk out your calling. In the face of what may look like failure continue to persist walking in the burden which He has given you. “For the gifts and call of God are irrevocable” (Rom. 11:29).
  2. Take up your position with kingdom authority. You are a keeper of the flame, do not let the flame go out. “The kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it” (Mt. 11:12).
  3. Submit to God’s schedule. Relinquish your schedule to Him. Even King David “a man after God’s own heart” had to let go of his dream for rebuilding the temple when God gave the assignment to his son Solomon (1 Chron. 21:10).
  4. Surround yourself with like-minded people. Build strategic spiritual alliances with others for encouragement and accountability. “For waging war you need guidance and for victory many advisors” (Prov. 24:6).

Growing in these Godly character qualities will strengthen you as a prayer leader and Intercessor for the long-haul.

  1. Faithfulness. Be faithful in the small things and give God time (Mt. 25:23).
  2. Purity of heart. Continually purify your heart through confession, repentance and obedience (I Chron. 17:2).
  3. Endurance. Learn to endure and persevere through times of hardship and suffering (Heb. 12:1).
  4. Single-minded focus. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Pray earnestly into the call God has given you and then lay all worldly distractions aside as you run the race set before you (Phil. 3:14).
