Often when congregations do all-church campaigns, they forget a vital part of the church—children and teenagers. Why not include them as well? While most initiatives do not provide guides for these groups, a creative planning team can do some things to include them. (Seek God for the City does have guides for children).

For children take prayers from the adult guides, simplify them a little and put them on colorful cards—one for each day of the campaign. Encourage kids to pray them several times each day—perhaps with their parents at meal time.

Teens could pray the adult guides, but they might be a little dull for them. Instead, work with youth leaders to help them have creative prayer meetings instead of their usual youth meetings during the campaigns. Develop prayer guides that include the prayers for each day of the week on one sheet. Use those in the prayer times with teens. Or set up prayer stations in the youth room that the different items the adult guides focus on.

Children and teens can have a powerful impact on the prayer life of a church. And with a little extra effort, an all-church prayer initiative can really become all-church.
